Snagit is a simple application which takes screenshots. I have it configured to automatically take a screenshot, name it with the date and toss it into a specific folder. Very useful if you are writing a manual or need to send a screenshot to someone.
Snagit has a window snapping feature that can grab a window and exclude the background easily. However when creating a screen shot of a window on a remote host (RDP) or VMware image I need to clean it up in Photoshop in order to remove borders that I was not able to unselect.
There is a neat feature in Snagit that I was unaware of until today. When selecting a section of the screen to capture, you can fine tune it with the arrow keys, one pixel at a time. This can save me the effort of editing the image in Photoshop.
